A prayer for today – Memorial of St. Mary Magdalene

Today is the Memorial of St. Mary Magdalene.  I’m trying to keep the devotional writing on this site a little varied, though I do like writing about the daily scripture readings.  But, I found this prayer on the Magnificat Magazine Twitter page and thought it appropriate.  May it truly be our prayer today:

For those who are faithful to you in times of trial, as Mary Magdalene was faithful at the cross – Christ, bless their perseverance

Lord, hear our prayer. Amen.

What a great prayer for perseverance. During busy weeks like this… I need prayers for perseverance. I never thought about Mary Magdalene in the frame of perseverance, but a great example of a person who truly experienced times of strife, yet never backed down…. who was consistently present.
