Shepherd Me, Oh God – Reflection for Lectionary Readings

Today’s lectionary readings all revolve around the image of the shepherd.  In Psalm 23, the Lord is our Shepherd.  In the first reading and gospel, Christ is the Shepherd, though in the gospel the people are like “sheep without a shepherd.”  Most readers of this blog may be familiar with the hymn “Shepherd Me, Oh God.”  I would encourage you to read the lectionary readings for today and use the video below for meditation.  It is an instrumental rendition.
